CONCERN THAT DRUG COMPANIES WILL MANIPULATE SOCIAL MEDIA

Two physician researchers from the Harvard Medical School and The Brigham & Women’s Hospital have said that they are concerned that social media may become a vehicle of drug company marketing and rabid manipulation. The comments published in the New England Journal of Medicine suggested that the FDA oversee the social media landscape to assure fairness and prevent a wild west mentality. Presently the Federal TRade Commission oversees advertisers for false or misleading statements.
