FEDS JOIN WHISTLEBLOWER SUIT AGAINST BOLLINGER FOR UNSEAWORTHY COAT GUARD SHIPS

The Department of JUSTICE says Bollinger Shipyards falsified data which lead the Coast Guard to contract with the firm to lengthen eight deepwater cutters, all of which were unseaworthy and unusuable. Bollinger exaggerrated structural hull strength and received $78 million under the contraact. The hull buckled on the first reconstructed vessel delivered by Bollinger.
