Harvard Law Prof First Amendment Scholar Alan Dershowitz Joins Whistleblower Assange Legal Team

Harvard Law school professor and First Amendment Scholar Alan Dershowitz has been added to the legal team of whistleblower Julian Assange, the Wikileaks Founder, the person behind some of the most controversial info leaks in recent history. Dershowitz says that there are critical and fundamental issues that will be decided by the Assange case including the applications of the First and Fourteenth Amendments to social media, electronic journalism and new media. The government has issued subpoenas to Twitter for information it hopes will connect Assange to the Wikileaker Bradley Manning. This too will be a central battleground for Dershowitz and Assange in the U.S.. Assange is an Australian journalist, publisher and internet actitivist whose whistleblower website Wikileaks was founded in 2006. The site has released classified documents as well as private documents from various sources.
