Intercare Health pays $10 million False Claims Violation for kickbacks

Intercare Health Systems Inc., former owner of City of Angels Medical Center, will pay $10 million to settle a whistleblower brought False Claims Act case for fraudulent billing Medicare. The DOJ said that City of Angels paid kickbacks to patient recruiters who worked at homeless shelters in Los Angeles to deliver homeless clients to the hospital for unnecessary medical treatments.
