IRS EASING PATH FOR WHISTLE-BLOWERS TO COLLECT

The Internal Revenue Service has proposed new rules which will make it easier for whistle-blowers to collect rewards for turning in large tax cheats. The new rules create big rewards to give incentive for people to report businesses and individuals who cheat the government out of two million dollars or more in taxes. The new rules have added rewards for reports of businesses or individuals who claim illegitimate tax refunds and also if there are fewer tax credits given. Many corporations claim so many tax credits, deductions and exemptions that they end up getting tax refunds. Where this is illegitimate, the whistle-blowers can now receive 30% of what the government recovers.
