LIFEWATCH SERVICES INC. SETTLES WHISTLEBLOWER ACTIONS FOR $18.5 MILLION

LifeWatch Services Inc. a company which monitors cardiac activity and heart palpitations in patients has settled two whistleblower suits with Uncle Sam for allegations that it used false diagnostic billing codes to submit claims to Medicare for its ambulatory cardiac telemetry services. In addition, it was accused of offering kickbacks to hospitals and medical practices in the form of free full time employees to induce them into submitting Medicare claims for their ACT services. There were two whistleblowers in the case, Ryan Sims and Sara Collins who will split their reward of $3.4 million plus interest. Jeffrey Newman represents whistleblowers. jeff@jeffnewmanlaw.com
