PATIENT WHISTLEBLOWER EXPOSES $150 MILLION MEDICAID FRAUD

63 year old wheelchair bound Medicaid patient Richard West exposed Maxim Healthcare’s widespread Medicaid fraud scheme of billing home health care nursing services never rendered. West, who uses a ventilator and needs oxygen learned in 2004 that New Jersey state officials had suspended his Medicaid benefits saying he had exceeded his monthly cap. West knew they were wrong and keeps careful records. He was able to show that Maxim had billed for 735 hours of nursing care he never got. He sent in his information but nothing was done and eventually filed a whistleblower lawsuit under The False Claims Act. Maxim recently agreed to pay $150 million dollars which will mean Mr. West will receive about $15 million for his reward under the law.
