SEVERANCE AGREEMENT RELEASE MAY BAR WHISTLEBLOWER SUIT

A False Claims Act whistleblower lawsuit has been dismissed because a former employee signed a broad release as part of a severance agreement. The whistleblower claimed that Purdue Pharma had defrauded the government by making false statements regarding the price and effectiveness of two products. When considering an employment release consideration should be given to possible claims which might exist for the employee.
