Symantec may face $145 million damages for alleged violation of Gov. contracting rules

Symantec Corporation the largest maker of computer security software may be required to pay as much as $145 million in damages relating to A Department of Justice investigation into whether the company failed to comply with government contracting rules concerning pricing.

The company announced in a regulatory filing that in 2012 the civil division of the U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. Attorney’s Office in the District of Columbia were investigating the company.

Symantec says it is cooperating with the investigation.
