U.S. Company to Pay SEC Over Chinese Bribes

California based equipment maker REA Systems agreed to pay $1.2 million to settle charges filed by the SEC accusing it of bribing Chinese officials to get government contracts for gas and chemical detection sensors. The SEC suit said that RAE knew that its joint venturer in China was using fake invoices for cash advances to use as bribes.
