Uncle Sam filed case against college for illegal recruiting

Uncle Sam has filed a Complaint against Stevens-Henager College Inc, and its owner, The Center for Excellence in Higher Education for illegally compensating recruiters. The government says that the college paid improper incentices and falsely certified compliance with the provisions of federal law that prohibit a university from paying incentive based compensation to its admissions recruiters based on the number of students they recruit.

The claims, joined by the government were originally filed by two whistleblowers, former SH employees under the False Claims Act which provides for a reward for the whistleblowers of up to 30% of what the government recovers.
