50 Companies Subpoenaed in Insider Trading Case

As part of its massive investigation of hedge funds and brokerage houses, the Dep of Justice has issued subpoenas to over 50 companies asking fr such information as email and other communications concerning mergers and acquisitions. This aggressive pursuit of various individuals within the financial community is an effort by DOJ to build a case that will result in jail time and other penalties that will deter the behavior of insider trading. Trading on inside information has become commonplace within the trading system slowing down only when someone is apprehended.
